Donna Strachan-
Ledbetter, M.S.
Donna is a pastoral psychotherapist at the Brandywine Pastoral Institute in Wilmington. At Wilmington College she is an adjunct faculty member in the undergraduate Division of Behavioral Science and the graduate program in Educational Counseling and is also a member of the Faculty Senate. Additionally, she teaches at the graduate level in the Pastoral and Theological Studies Department of Neumann College.
Donna has been in the specialized ministry of pastoral psychotherapy for nearly 17 years and prior to this worked as a special education teacher with persons with severe mental retardation and multiple developmental disabilities.
As a pastoral therapist she works with individuals, couples and families and provides educational programs for congregations and for the local community. She leads courses and retreats that involve the interface of spirituality and psychotherapy. With her husband, Tom, also a pastoral psychotherapist with the Institute, she conducts workshops, seminars and consultations.
She is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Wilmington, and has served in a variety of leadership capacities. As a city resident she has been involved with the Wilmington Interfaith Network and has served on the Board of Directors and Advisory Board of the West Center City Day Care and Nursery. She and Tom have also served together on the Board of Directors of Columcille, a Celtic spirituality center neighboring the Kirkridge Retreat Center in Pennsylvania.
Donna is certified through the National Board for Certified Counselors. Professional memberships have included the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and the Association for Transpersonal Psychology.
For relaxation, Donna enjoys walking, biking, backpacking, swimming at the beach, reading, and has been active in two women’s groups—one a book group and the other a support and study group focusing on life-planning and personal growth. She is the mother of four adult children.

Ledbetter, M.Div.
Tom is a Pastoral Psychotherapist at the Brandywine Pastoral Institute in Wilmington, Delaware. He is an American Baptist minister, having served in parish ministry for seven years and in the specialized ministry of pastoral psychotherapy for over thirty years. He does individual, couples, and group psychotherapy and has an active teaching ministry in area churches, teaching courses that involve the interface of spirituality and psychotherapy.
Tom is a member of Silverside Church, Wilmington, and is married to Donna who is also a Pastoral Psychotherapist at BPI. They live in the city of Wilmington, have been active in WIN (the Wilmington Interfaith Network), and served on the Board of Directors of Columcille, a Celtic megalithic stone center near Bangor, Pa. Tom also served on the Board of the Delaware Lesbian and Gay Health Advocates. With Donna he does workshops, seminars, and consultations.
Tom’s hobbies include surfcasting, backpacking, bicycling on the backroads of Sussex county, and just being at the beach.
He is a Fellow in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.
